Police Uncover Baby Factory In Ijegun, Rescue 10 Victims

The Lagos State Police Command has uncovered a suspected baby factory operating in the Ijegun area of the state.
The Command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the development on Monday.
He disclosed that 10 individuals were rescued during the raid while three suspects were arrested in connection with the illegal operation.
He added that the operation followed a credible tip-off received on Saturday, prompting swift police intervention.
According to him, officers from the Command raided the premises and arrested the suspected operator of the facility, 35-year-old Mariam Vincent.
Two accomplices: Orie Ruth, 23, and Ujunwa Ifeanyi, 18 were also taken into custody.
During the raid, the police rescued seven adult women and three children believed to have been held against their will.
The adult victims were identified as Precious (24), Magdalene (25), Adaobi (23), Princess (22), Ifeanyi (25), and Amaka (26), while the rescued children were named Destiny (7), Miracle (5), and Success (2).
All rescued individuals are currently receiving care and support as investigations continue.
According to Hundeyin, preliminary interrogation revealed that the suspects had abducted their victims from various parts of Lagos with the intention of operating an illegal child trafficking ring.
He added that further investigations were ongoing and that the suspects will face prosecution in due course.
