Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr, has admitted that Croatia were a better side than his team in the 2-0 loss to the European side.

Croatia defeated Nigeria 2-0 in the team’s first group D match at the Kaliningrad stadium on Saturday.

Rohr also affirmed that he is disappointed for the loss and that his side made some mistakes which cost the team the three points.

“But we must recognise that the Croatians were a better side than us tonight,” Rohr said.

“We are disappointed as it is when you lose a match. We made some mistakes which cost us the game. Like the two goals were from corners. We have to accept this defeat and move on.

“We have to defeat Iceland in order to have the hope of moving into the next round.”

Super Eagles will take on Iceland in their second group D match on June 22 in Volgograd.
